Katherine White began her journey with music at age seven when she started ballet & guitar lessons. By age
nine she had moved on to start studying piano and went on to complete her ARCT by age 20.
Started teaching piano at age 19 under the guidance of her instructor Karen Jackson in New
Westminster, BC. She moved to Vancouver Island and was a member of the North Island Branch of the
BC Registered Music Teachers Association. While living in Courtenay, BC in the late 1990’s she worked
in piano sales and as music school instructor/coordinator at Dave’s Piano and Keyboard Centre. She
landed in Calgary, AB in the early 2000’s where, in addition to teaching piano, she has continued her
deep involvement with music by working with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and for the Calgary
Jazz Festival.
Currently she is a member of the Calgary branch of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association and the
Alberta Piano Teachers Association. She resides in Chestermere, AB with her husband and two sons.
